AIMES & SCOPE

It is an annual peer-reviewed journal focused on publishing articles dedicated to different topics of bariatric surgery. All articles will be peer reviewed for acceptance by editors for publication in the journal. Authors will be notified of this decision and at the same time requested to pay an Article Publishing Charge (APC). Following payment of this charge (synonym: fee), articles will be made universally available and no further charge through https://bariatriccases.org.

STATE REGISTRATION

The journal is registered by the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine (Fig 1) as print media (journal) (Decision dated March 7, 2024 No. 711 [download PDF]) and online media (journal) (Decision dated March 7, 2024 No. 730 [download PDF]).

INTERNATIONAL STANDARD SERIAL NUMBER (ISSN)

The journal is undergoing the process of obtaining an ISSN in the ISSN Centre for Ukraine, Ivan Fedorov Book Chamber of Ukraine, State Scientific Institution. Online (synonym: electronic) ISSN 0000-0000. 

FREQUENCY

One volume per year (since 2024) with a type continuous publication. Our Journal is an annual publication.

ABSTRACTING & INDEXING

  • After the release of the first volume of the journal, it will be presented on the website of Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine for public online access.

  • Editorial Board composed with experts deeply involved into bariatric and metabolic surgery.

STANDARD ABBREVIATION (ISO 4)

Standard abbreviation usually used in references, i.e., when authors are citing an article from a particular journal. In this case, the dots may not be used or put one dot at the end of the last title`s word which is abbreviated.

It`s a fully open access, printable online peer-reviewed journal.

ARTICLE PUBLISHING CHARGE (APC)

An APC (synonym: open access publication fee) is payable by the authors or research funder to cover the costs associated with publication. This ensures your article will be immediately and permanently free to access by everyone. This APC is to cover the costs of peer review, copyediting, typesetting, long-term archiving, and journal management.

The APC for the short case report (3-4 pages article [i.e., short case report]) published in the Bariatric Surgery Cases and Reviews is $500 USD, excluding taxes:

  • For articles submitted between March 01, 2024 and  February 28, 2025 there is a 75% introduction discount (i.e., the APC is $125 USD).

  • For articles submitted between March 01, 2025 and  February 28, 2026 there is a 50% introduction discount.

  • For articles submitted between March 01, 2026 and  February 28, 2027 there is a 25% introduction discount.

 

The APC for the long case report (5-9 pages or more [i.e., long case report]) published in the Bariatric Surgery Cases and Reviews is $1,373.40 USD, excluding taxes:

  • For articles submitted between March 01, 2024 and  February 28, 2025 there is a 75% introduction discount (i.e., the APC is $343.40 USD).

  • For articles submitted between March 01, 2025 and  February 28, 2026 there is a 50% introduction discount.

  • For articles submitted between March 01, 2026 and  February 28, 2027 there is a 25% introduction discount.

 

The APC for the review article (5-9 pages or more) published in the Bariatric Surgery Cases and Reviews is $1,373.40 USD, excluding taxes:

  • For articles submitted between March 01, 2024 and  February 28, 2025 there is a 75% introduction discount (i.e., the APC is $343.40 USD).

  • For articles submitted between March 01, 2025 and  February 28, 2026 there is a 50% introduction discount.

  • For articles submitted between March 01, 2026 and  February 28, 2027 there is a 25% introduction discount.

All papers published by the Bariatric Surgery Cases and Reviews will be free to every person to download, read, copy, and distribute. Permission for reuse will be defiened by your choice of one of the next user licenses:

For open access publishing this journal uses an exclusive licensing agreement. Authors will retain copyright alongside scholarly usage rights and OMF Publishing will be granted publishing and distribution rights.
